
All in all, it’s an amazingly thorough package.

There’s a clever if rudimentary cover system that adds a smidgen of extra tactical depth without bogging the action down too much, and “argent power” that feeds the demons in the 2016 video game is also simulated. Teleporter counters lend the game a bit of its forebear’s deathmatch dynamics (surely something that will appear as an expansion at some point) with telefragging allowed (nay, encouraged). For instance, the glory kill mechanic lets you move through injured monsters and pop them in one hit, winning a little bonus card for your trouble, while there are 20-odd class cards that give each marine a small, unique bonus for extra variety.
